Reformer and Apparatus 1-1s

Fix the body like no other method can.

I was desperate. I had exhausted all my options with the NHS. At the time I could only walk for 5 minutes at a time as my back pain was so unbearable. Once I began training on the machines with Claire my back and spasms disappeared for good. Now I can walk 10 miles plus a day .

the hip and pelvis

Most hip problems are due to a dropped hip on one side which is creating pain into the buttock, groin and down the side of the leg. This can effect the way we walk due to a weakness from the waistline and core area that feed directly into the hip. The hip muscles become weak over time which then turns to a throbbing and achy pain. Clients then think that injections and massages will help but they prove the opposite as the hip is still out of alignment and injections do not strengthen muscles or change them. The only way to address these imbalances and weaknesses in the hip is to work closely with your alignment and wake the muscles back up.

the SHOULDERS

The Shoulder Girdle which includes the rotator cuff is high up on the list of stubborn injuries. Most clients can not get the desired results from steroid injections and basic rehab exercises due to the entire shoulder girdle now been out of alignment. Shoulder dropped, pain in arm or neck or even back of the shoulder can only be relieved through somatic and Pilates exercises which addresses the nervous systems reconnection to the movement of the muscles so that the shoulder may align and strengthen properly.

tHE BACK

Continuous back pain can be caused through a weakness on one side or a tightness in the back itself. It may be that you have had a disc removed or partly removed which is giving you pain. Or a problem in your SI joints that trigger pain across the back into the buttocks. Let us not forget the dreaded sciatica….which can be an easy fix as most peoples backs need to stabilise in neutral to alleviate pressure off the Sciatic nerve

tHE KNEE JOINT

My advice…address the knee ASAP. If you have been limping or collapsing or even avoiding the knee for a few month now then the muscles that support the knee joint are becoming weaker and confused about their roles. Most knee replacements have a waiting list of 9months and most of the time this can be totally avoided unless of course you have little to no cartridge left. Meniscus tears or ACL DAMAGE CAN BE FIXED. But Pilates goes way beyond the simple squat as we have 3 footwork systems that strengthen the foot into the knee muscles.

Flexibility & posture

Pilates is the first stop for spinal flexibility and Posture.

It maybe that your posture is giving you some pain across the upper back /mid back or lower back.

Sitting all day was never part of the human evolution but yet here we are sometimes 8-12 hours a day.

Learn exercises to lift the sternum , reduce the fat lump at the back of the neck or kyphosis.

When you start losing weight and toning up, it can often be difficult to target specific problem areas which need more work than others.

No matter whether it is preparing for the summer beach holiday or the enthusiasm of a new year, we have many reasons for wanting to lose some weight, tone up, and gain a bit of fitness.

Despite what diet is in fashion that month, there is no better way to lose weight than trying to simply follow a healthy diet and combining it with a decent amount of exercise. Although all of us are different shapes and sizes therefore it can be difficult to tailor the right exercise regime to suit.

Pilates is one such exercise that can be an aid in weight loss, toning, and improving overall fitness, yet be adapted to suit the physical condition of the person.

Some benefits of Pilates are as follows,

Increases in energy - as you keep doing the routines the more energy you will have and will be likely to take part in additional aerobic or cardio exercises, therefore aiding weight loss.

Increases in strength – Pilates encourages toned muscle and not bulk, which can be a preferred look for many people.

Core strength – Pilates really aims at developing and increasing your core strength, and as this builds you will find posture improving and in general your body in less tension than before.
