What is Somatics

Clinical Somatics uses a combination of both passive and active movement techniques. The passive movements calm your nervous system and increase your internal awareness, while the active movements create lasting change by reducing your resting level of muscle tension and retraining learned motor patterns

What to expect in Class

Somatics is a slow, calm and very gentle approach to exercise. Some classes we may only get through 5 movements .As a student you will begin to relearn your entire movement patterns. Exercises should be practiced everyday at home so that we may teach our nervous system and muscles the correct way to move.

Somatics is very powerful in removing chronic pain completely, providing you are onboard with listening to your body and willing to change your postural habits over time.
